Three staff members from Southmountain’s Children’s Advocacy Centers recently completed the Forensic Interviewing of Children Training sponsored by the National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC).  This is one of the premier trainings that our staff attend.  During this five-day, interactive training held in Huntsville, Alabama, participants learn the internationally-recognized NCAC Child Forensic Interview Structure.  This interview structure is used by Forensic Interviewers at our Children’s Advocacy Centers in Burke, McDowell, Yancey/Mitchell and Watauga/Avery counties.  All Southmountain staff who conduct forensic interviews must complete Forensic Interview Trainings that are approved by the National Children's Alliance.

Posted by: swright 2 years, 9 months ago

Southmountain Children and Family Services' Christmas Appeal is now in full swing! Every year in December we ask the community to support the children at our Foster Community. Southmountain gives our Foster Parents $250 to spend on each child in their home and we ask the the community to make a donation towards this cause. Your donation of any amount is greatly appreciated.   Donations may also be conveniently and securely made through our website at www.southmountain.org
