FAMILY ADVOCATE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Southmountain Children and Family Services is seeking a qualified candidate to join its team as a Family Advocate.

The Family Advocate supports the children and families who utilize the services of the Toe River Children’s Advocacy Center. The Advocate ensures a continuum of services for children who have been victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, neglect, or other types of trauma. The focus of this position is to provide case management services that include: support, orientation and education to children who are victims of crime and to their family members, as well as coordinate services with partnering agencies involved in the investigation and treatment of child abuse, neglect and trauma.

The Family Advocate reports directly to the Regional Director and is required to work cooperatively with all multi-disciplinary partners.

This position is full-time 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, but requires flexibility for after-hour emergencies and periodic on-call.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher required

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Human Services.

  • Strong working knowledge of community resources and public relations skills are preferred.

  • Compensation: $38,000 - $46,000 per year
