CENTER DIRECTOR/FORENSIC INTERVIEWER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Southmountain Children and Family Services is seeking a qualified candidate to join its team as a Center Director/Forensic Interviewer at the Harnett County Children’s Advocacy Center.

The Center Director/Forensic Interviewer coordinates with partner agencies regarding child abuse and neglect cases. The director will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) composed of representatives from community agencies charged with investigating child abuse cases (the Department of Social Services, law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, and other community service providers). A primary responsibility of the director is to conduct forensic interviews of children who report abuse. Extensive training will be provided for this duty. The Director will collect and input data about each case, prepare the case for discussion at a weekly case review and facilitate the meetings. The director will collaborate with other community service providers, as well as the family advocate and therapist at the center.

The center director/forensic interviewer reports directly to the Regional Director and is required to work cooperatively with all multi-disciplinary partners. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, but requires flexibility for after-hours emergencies and periodic on-call.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher required

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Human Services.

  • Strong organizational, group facilitation, and written communication skills are necessary.

  • Forensic interviewing and public relations skills are preferred.
