The Community Foundation of WNC Grant Helps Keep Main Office Running Smoothly
Southmountain Children and Family Services is grateful to announce the receipt of a $10,000 Sudden and Urgent Needs (SUN) Grant from The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina through the Janirve Legacy Fund.
The grant provided critical funding to help cover the repair of the HVAC system at Southmountain's main office. While air conditioning may seem like a routine building expense, a functioning HVAC system is essential to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for the children, families, staff, and community partners who rely on our services every day.
Unexpected facility repairs can place a significant strain on nonprofit budgets, often diverting resources away from direct services. Thanks to the generosity of The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina and the Janirve Legacy Fund, Southmountain was able to address this urgent need quickly without impacting programs that support children and families across our region.
"We are incredibly thankful for this support," said Beth Willard Patton, Community Engagement Specialist. "This grant allowed us to respond to an unexpected facility need while keeping our focus where it belongs: serving children and families in our community."
For more than 120 years, Southmountain Children and Family Services has worked to strengthen families, protect children, and create opportunities for brighter futures. Community partnerships and philanthropic investments like this one help ensure that our organization can continue providing critical services while maintaining the facilities and infrastructure necessary to support our mission.
We extend our sincere gratitude to The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina and the Janirve Legacy Fund for their investment in our work and their commitment to the well-being of children and families throughout Western North Carolina.
