RECREATION ASSISTANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The purpose of the Recreation Assistant is to assist the Recreation Director in providing recreational therapy and general recreation services to youth living in the Southmountain Children and Family Services Foster Community. S/he will assist in every step of the treatment delivery process, including assessment of client functioning, treatment and intervention planning, activity implementation, evaluation of services, and discharge planning. S/he will also assist in orienting and supervising agency volunteers and interns. S/he will participate in regular staff training and client staffings and will report directly to the Recreation Director for regular supervision.
This position is full-time 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, but requires flexibility for after-hour activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completed or currently completing a Therapeutic Recreation-related degree.
Experience in working with children and families.
Experience working with families affected by trauma is preferred.
1-year of Recreation Therapy experience

Compensation: Based on experience and education ($15/hour)
